New Dream Dog classes start monthly

The optimum time for puppies to learn to socialize is before they are 20 weeks old. But it’s not true that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. It's never too soon—or too late—to turn your dog into your dream dog.

Dream Dogs’ semi-private classes meet once a week for 50 to 60 minutes and run for six weeks. For more information on upcoming classes, please call Melinda at  215-906-9229.

Family Dog Level 1: Beginner
This is an introductory class for dogs who are just starting their formal training. We discuss normal dog behavior, management skills and positive solutions for behavior challenges. You will learn to teach your dog how to:
  • Pay attention to you
  • Come when called
  • Greet people nicely
  • Walk politely on a leash
  • Sit/lie down
  • Stay

Fee: $125 includes all Dream Dogs course materials, plus two workbooks by Leslie Nelson.
Dogs do not attend the first class.


Puppy Kindergarten
This is an introductory class for puppies who are less than 16 weeks old when the class starts. We teach the same skills as Family Dog Level 1, with an emphasis on puppy issues such as housetraining, mouthing and biting.

Fee: $125 includes all Dream Dogs course materials, plus two workbooks by Leslie Nelson.
Dogs do not attend the first class.

New Family Dog Level 1 and Puppy Kindergarten classes start each month. Occasionally it is necessary to combine classes. We make every effort to group dogs by age and tailor class content accordingly.


Family Dog Level 2: Intermediate
This class is a continuation of Level 1 or Puppy Kindergarten. Practicing the skills you learned previously, you will teach your dog to respond in the face of increasing real-life distractions. We also incorporate the skills needed to pass the American Kennel Club (AKC) Canine Good Citizenship Test. 

This class is offered periodically throughout the year. 

Fee: $125 includes Dream Dogs course materials.
Dogs DO attend the first class. 

NOTE: Puppies and dogs enrolled in any program must be up to date on vaccinations, free of parasites and healthy.
